Towards the ultimate material-fabrication

Hi-Tech Research Center Maintenance Program, which is one of the Highly Promoted Program for Private University in Academic Research, was adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) on April 2006. The adopted program is “The development of the functionality of the external field-induced nano- devices under peculiar circumstance and the exploring the novel materials”. Japan hopes to be a leader among the world in the fields of science and technology, and Japanese government has considered IT (Information Technology), BT (Bio- Technology), ET (Environmental Technology) and NT (Nano-Technology) as the four priority fields. Among them, IT, BT and ET are deeply related to each other, while Nano-Technology supports these technologies. Nano- Technology is, certainly, the key technology in the 21st century.

Features of this Center are multi-functional: 1) fabrication of thin films and devices that are accurately controlled through the monatomic order, 2) nano-fabrication by “top-down” and “bottom-up” approaches and 3) evaluation of their various characteristics and functionalities. All the research work can be done in this Center. In addition to the original program-research topics, we are also expecting the joint research project with the different field researchers. The researchers and students in this center always do their best so that theme of the research should not end in vain.

The stylish building located in front of the main gate of the Department of Engineering is just HTRC. A red-slit which symbolizes the HTRC (decorating inside and outside of the building) imagines the red laser. You are always welcome to visit the Center with the sightseeing course, so please come and look at the most advanced apparatuses.
