X-ray Weekly Monitor of Sgr A* during the Suzaku visible windows (Aug.-Oct. 2013, Feb.-Apr., Sep.-Oct. 2014, Mar. 2015)

Yoshitomo Maeda(PI), Hiroshi Murakami, Takayuki Saitoh, Ryo Iizuka et al.

This page presents quick look plots of the Suzaku monitoring observations of the Galactic center. The monitoring will be made weekly (20ksec each) during Suzaku visible windows (Aug.-Oct. 2013, Feb.-Apr.,Sep.-Oct. 2014, Mar. 2015) The observations aim to catch possible flaring events associated with an accretion event of Sgr A* triggered with the approaching gas cloud "G2".

Please visit http://dept.astro.lsa.umich.edu/~markrey/sgra/sgra.shtml for the daily monitor with the Swift satellite by Nathalie Degenaar (PI), Jon Miller, Mark Reynolds et al.. Very useful information on the G2 event has been being kindly collected by Stefan Gillessen at https://wiki.mpe.mpg.de/gascloud/FrontPage.

Light curve

- Suzaku lightcurve during the 2013 fall (XIS3), the 2014 spring, fall (XIS0), and the 2015 spring (XIS3) monitoring in the 2.0 - 10.0 keV band. It is extracted from a circular region with a radius of 30 arcsec centered at the Sgr A* radio position. No background is subtracted.

Important : All the plots shown in this page can be used for the purpose to trigger follow-up observations only.
The results presented in this page are made using the quick-look data for health check of the Suzaku instruments. The data are referred to as "uscfff". The processing of the uscfff is preliminary. Accordingly, the plots using the uscfff are all preliminary, too. The manager kindly allowed us to show the preliminary images and light curve, which help triggering follow-up observations. We appreciate the duty scientists who almost daily track Suzaku at the Uchinoura Space Center and make the uscfff.
Publication in the scientific journal using the uscfff is prohibited due to the Suzaku collaborations. We will then publish results using the official data. The official data made through the official processing will be delivered to us usually in a few months after the observations are made.
